  2. RONDA Lee SAVAGE

I found my father’s picture on page 11 of the booklet on men and women who served in the U. S. Military. His name was Willard E. Savage and he lived on King’s Mountain growing up. It was nice to see his face in the booklet. I would be interested in knowing if there is any more information on the Savage family from that area or the Hatch family which was my grandmother’s (Louise Hatch) maiden name. She married Francis Savage and they had 5 children including my father. My great aunt, Christine Hatch Gordon, was the city clerk for Brewer for many years. I have a lot of old pictures of both families that I would be glad to share. One of them is of Raymond Perkins, Jr. who my great aunt talked about frequently when I was a kid. The Savage family was originally from Northeast Harbor and were direct descendants of Frederick Lincoln Savage, a famous architect who designed the Asticou Inn and Charles Savage who designed the Asticou and Thuya Gardens. I have the complete genealogy of the Savage side of the family written by Rose Ruze. Thank you for keeping this history!
